Don't fuss!

The performance is researching the elements of a relationship focusing on hysteria and the aftermath. The dance piece is connecting the rhythm of the drums and the humor that is ‘hidden’ in a couple's daily life, but this can be observed by and outsider. And the outsiders are sitting and watching and laughing. On us. And at themselves, too.

‘The drummer needs the instrument to make the sound; the drum needs the drummer’s rhythmical movements to create it; the dancer needs the music, and by association, the musician; the musician needs the dancer to embody, to live the rhythm, to bring it further. Yet, there is a constant questioning of these dependencies, and attempts to break the bond. How far can a dancer go with a bunch of drums without the musician? Drummer David Sego and dancer Rita Gobi forged an exquisite partnership, an inseparable fusion of drum rhythms and graceful movements. This silent yet eloquent collaboration poignantly captures the intricate power struggles within interpersonal relationships. For this performance, Rita Góbi received the Best Hungarian Contemporary Dancer Award and also the Best Solo Dancer Award at SoloDuo Festival in Cologne, Germany in 2015.
